Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Assam Engineering College aims to promote the institutional vision of transforming youngsters into technological entrepreneurs and innovative leaders. The initiative is to address the rising trend of corporate job culture and establish a platform to pursue ideas and businesses at an early stage. We at EDC host various workshops, speaker sessions, competitions to develop skill sets and provide essential resources to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Various workshops on conceptualising, launching and running a business enterprise to provide goods & services, employment, earn revenue and contribute to the economy of the country are held. To set up a profitable business and make it grow through the ever-changing environment of trade and economy, one needs to know all the skills and insights of a sustainable business model. A series of informative talks on business, entrepreneurship, startups, etc are held. Distinguished speakers and experts on their respective fields of expertise are invited for the talks. Enthusiastic minds are hugely benefited by the share of knowledge they get through the talks. We try to make the discussions more interactive, so that listeners could clarify their various queries. Some of the topics covered in the talks are: how to start up, funding, making businesses, making a venture successful and many more. Various contest events and games related to entrepreneurship and business ideas are organised. They help in brainstorming and finding solutions to problem statements and trigger the zeal for innovation. Building a creative mindset and parallel skillset is the utmost priority. Various competitions are - pitching battle, Case study competition, IPL auction, Business quiz, Virtual stock market, etc.
